Ship christening ceremony for USS Bougainville

Ingalls Shipbuilding Division will be hosting a christening ceremony for the navy’s third America-Class Assault Ship Bougainville.

On Saturday, December 2, you can livestream the ceremony beginning at 8:30 in the morning.

The ceremony will run from 9 to 10:30.

The USS Bougainville is the second ship named in honor of Bougainville Island in the Solomons.

The name honors the successful World War II battle after navy, marines, and ally coordination from 1943 to 1944.
