Children take part in Visions of Sugarplums shopping trip
22 children in Pascagoula experienced the shopping spree of a lifetime, buying for their family and for themselves.
They were chosen to participate in the 2023 Visions of Sugarplums shopping trip.
Visions of Sugarplums was created by Turf Masters Lawn Care with the purpose of helping families with Christmas and teaching children the joy of giving.
Each of them were given a $300 shopping limit to purchase presents for family members as well as clothes and toys for themselves.
The Pascagoula Parks and Recreation staff helped the children navigate through the store, picking out just the right gift.
The children get to make a new friend during the holidays, too.
“I would definitely say an impact was made because whether people realize it or not, shopping is just you talk about all of your favorite things,” said Kennedy Williams, part of the Pascagoula Parks and Rec staff. “I got to learn all about Brooklyn’s favorite things today and I feel like even the little things make the biggest difference.”
They still have to wait until Christmas to unwrap the gifts.
