Two suspects charged in carjacking case in Jackson County

Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter said two people are charged with unarmed carjacking.

Ledbetter said that on Nov. 14, the victim picked up 27-year-old Joseph Anthony White and 38-year-old Julie Ann Anders at an Ocean Springs hotel and took them to an area off Highway 57. That’s when White and Anders allegedly stole the victim’s car. Both suspects are homeless, Ledbetter said.

Sheriff’s deputies used a K-9 to find the suspects on Monday at a vacant home in Vancleave. The victim’s car was recovered.

White and Anders are both charged with carjacking and held without bond at the Jackson County jail. Anders also has a probation violation charge.

An initial appearance is scheduled for today in Jackson County Court.
