Homelessness town hall hosted at Ground Zero Blues Club
At Ground Zero Blues Club in Biloxi, a coast non-profit held another town hall discussion on homelessness.
Back Bay Mission is marking Hunger and Homelessness Week with a series of town hall events.
A variety of topics were on the agenda, including Back Bay Mission’s plan for transitional housing on the coast.
Suggestions included legal tent camping sites and tiny homes plans.
Councilman Felix Gines was at the meeting and says he wants to make a homelessness resource center in the city.
“I feel it was productive. Because I feel like it gives us an opportunity to look at a certain direction, many directions. And so we’ve been doing this for quite a while now,” said Councilman Gines This is my second one, Back Bay Mission’s fourth town hall. Right now, we have a direction.”
Back Bay Mission is hosting a food drive all week.
You can drop off food-drive donations at Northrop Grumman in Ocean Springs through Thursday.
Also, if you shop at Food Giant in Biloxi, they will donate a bag of food to the Back Bay Mission pantry.
