Armed Forces Retirement Home celebrates Veterans Day

The Armed Forces Retirement Home celebrated Veterans Day with an open house.

The last time they were able to host their Veterans Day Open House was in 2019 before the pandemic.

Guests were invited onto the campus to see multiple helicopter landings, military equipment, and a ceremony.

Veterans were also able to showcase and sell their art and projects.

It was a special day for visitors to connect with veterans and thank them for their service.

We asked Air Force veteran Leo Rozyke how today made him feel…

“Well, I feel proud to be a veteran because people here… they appreciate the veterans in this area. They really do,” he said, “It’s been real good. It’s been hectic, but people have been fantastic coming in, thanking us for our service and everything. It was beautiful. Beautiful.”

It was a great year back with smiles and laughs all around as people got to know each other.
