St. Patrick shortstop Brooklyn Mitchell makes things official with MGCCC

Friends, family, teammates, and coaches all gathered around to watch St. Patrick’s Senior standout and our former WXXV Student Athlete of the week Brookyln Mitchell sign her letter of intent.

The three-sport athlete will be extending her softball career as a Bulldog, signing with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. 

While sporting the title of captain, last season Mitchell led the squad in doubles, home runs, and RBI’s, and she shows off her quick hands and agility while playing shortstop for the Lady Irish.

The senior shortstop tells us why she is choosing to call MGCCC her new home.

“I just really like the coaches, like the campus, just everything about it and it fit me both for like athletics. I love the softball team, the fields, and for like the school and education, like just fit what I want to be in the future,” Mitchell said. 

Brooklyn also thanks everyone who attended her signing day for the support and also looks forward to helping her team bring home a state title in softball.
