Gulf Coast business leaders visit Jackson County

The Gulf Coast Business Council visited Jackson County this morning to hear about the successes in that area of the Coast.

Speaking at Pelican Landing in Moss Point, George Freeland, the executive director of the Jackson County Economic Development Foundation, and Mary Martha Henson, the deputy director, spoke to business leaders about the continuing economic development in the county.

Moss Point Mayor Billy Knight updated the business council about the recovery efforts in Moss Point after the June tornado that hit the city. “We wanted the business community of the Gulf Coast to see all of the opportunities and potential of Moss Point. Moss Point has been down for a while, but we’re on our way back now.”

Coming up, the Business Council is partnering with the South Mississippi Planning and Development District for a forum on coastal insurance on November 16th.
