It is as easy as one, two, screen. That was the potentially lifesaving message at Beach View Family Dental today.
Dentists were offering free neck, head, and oral cancer screenings at the office in Gulfport. They checked tissues around the teeth as well as any lumps in the neck area which could be precancerous.
Dentists at Beach View Family Dental tell News 25 the consequences if you let any abnormalities go undetected. Dentist Megan Blackman said, “If you don’t check it and if something pops up and you don’t catch it early, you could end up losing part of your jaw, part of your tongue. It’s something that you want to catch really early so it can just be a small procedure if it’s got to be removed.”
You can go get your screenings checked at any age, but you are more at risk if you use tobacco or a high level of alcohol.
