Southern Miss program ranked top 10 in affordability
The University of Southern Mississippi’s online Doctor of Nursing Practice-Nurse Practitioner programs have been ranked among the nation’s top 10 in affordability.
Southern Miss climbed from the number 13 spot in the 2022 – 2023 school year to the number 8 spot this year – being the only college or university in the state included in the list.
Southern Miss’ current program enrollment includes 15 students in the Family Nurse Practitioner program, 9 students in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program, and 11 students in the post masters Clinical DNP program.
Dr. LaWanda Baskin, the director of the school of leadership and advanced nursing practice, says Southern Miss’ program stands out for being affordable and more accessible to a wider range of students.
Dr. Baskin also said the program gives students the opportunity to focus on areas of nursing that matches their goals.
