Senior Mardi Gras Celebration

They may not be outside catching beads in the streets but seniors at the Dixie White House Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pass Christian know how to party, Mardi Gras style.
Residents came out of their rooms to collect beads and watch the senior Mardi Gras parade this morning. Starting the march at 10:30 a.m., the halls were full of noise makers, music, dancing and fun. Nursing home resident Doralee Clark said, “We have such lovely people here. Everyone laughing and smiling and giggling and blowing the horn in each other’s ear. Oh me, it’s nice to be old and act silly.”
Dixie White House seniors told News 25 the parade happens every year at the nursing home.
