Jackson County Fair underway this week

The Jackson County Fair kicked off over the weekend and there’s another full week of fun still to come.

Livestock exhibits opened today at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Pascagoula and there are themed days throughout the rest of this week.

Tuesday is Family Night, Thursday is Old Settlers Day, and Friday is Children’s Day.

Livestock barn co-chair Dawn Jones hopes families and kids enjoy all parts of the fair, especially visiting all the animals the fair has to offer. “What we love about doing this, our motto around here is ‘we do it for the kids.’ We want every kid in Jackson County to be able to see live cattle, live chickens, live goats, sheep. So, they can actually know when they hear someone talking about cattle, they know what it is.”
