One dead, one injured in single-vehicle crash in Pass Christian

One person is dead in a single car accident in Harrison County.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer said 42-year-old Ann Spiers of Dedeaux Community in Hancock County died of blunt force trauma. She was not wearing her seatbelt.

Sheriff Troy Peterson said deputies and firefighters responded to the scene at Vidalia Road near Sundance Road in Pass Christian about 7 p.m.

When authorities got there, they found a vehicle upside down that hit a tree. Switzer said it was unclear which person was driving.

The other occupant of the vehicle was airlifted by Rescue Five to University Medical in New Orleans, but his status is unknown.
