Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Continues to Give Back

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program has been hard at work saving money for Harrison County. Today, they made sure county leaders knew it.
On behalf of the RSVP, RSVP representative Mag Holland presented the board with a $1.6 million check. The check translates to countless hours volunteers spent giving back to the community into an amount of money.
While this check wasn’t actually for real money, Holland says you can’t put a price on the work they do. “Our main goal is to keep seniors in their home, keep them safe in their home. We also mentor in the schools. We have volunteers that help with foster children. We have volunteers that build furniture for children. We have volunteers that work in hospitals, just the cancer society, transporting people to medical treatments. There’s just so much.”
To participate with RSVP, you must be 55 or older.
