Moss Point welcomes cruisers back to the River City
In just five months, Main Street Moss Point has gone from a disaster area to welcoming cruisers back for another year on the river.
The city didn’t let the damage put a damper on the event, welcoming back nearly 800 cars that covered Main Street.
The city was also able to show off the progress they’ve made to guests.
“You know, after the tornado hit, people were down. They have a reason to celebrate now. Cruisin’ the Coast gives all of our people an opportunity to come out and enjoy themselves,” said Mayor Billy Knight. “And kind of get our minds off these things that we have to work through everyday.”
“We’re proud to be able to show our resilience. Let people know that that even though we were down, we came back,” said Carl Mahome of the River City Classic Corvette Club.
