Fire Engulfs Gulfport Home
A fire rips through a home in Gulfport today just before a family plans to move in.
Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan tells News 25 no one is injured but at least two rooms within the home are completely destroyed.
According to Chief Sullivan, neighbors called authorities when they saw smoke billowing from the home on South Street, just off of Canal. Harrison County Fire Services as well as the Gulfport Fire Department responded to the scene just after 2 p.m. When they arrived, a fully involved fire had engulfed the home. “It was a pretty good amount of fire inside. It gutted at least two rooms. We had it under control within at least 15 minutes,” said Chief Sullivan.
No one was inside the home during the fire but a family was in the process of moving in today. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
