A.J. Holloway Sports Complex in Biloxi undergoing renovations
One of Biloxi’s most used sports complexes is undergoing a facelift.
Renovations are taking place at the A.J. Holloway Sports Complex in Biloxi. They are excavating the land on some of the baseball fields and the parking lot as the 270-day project is currently underway.
Contractors with J.E. Talley Construction Inc. have been awarded the $5.16 million contract job that includes adding artificial turf and sod to the baseball and softball fields.
The construction group will also be expanding, paving, and striping the parking areas as well as upgrading the drainage and irrigation in the baseball fields and softball fields. City of Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Cecilia Dobbs Walton said, “In the past, some of the games have had to been canceled because of drainage issues causing water to get on the fields. So, this project is going to help eliminate some of those, help make it more playable, and more enjoyable for the public.”
Walton also says while construction is going on, youth sports and organizations can still utilize the authorized fields.
