Mississippi Aquarium Rescheduled For Friday, September 15

The sea turtle release that was scheduled for Thursday, September 14 due to inclement weather has been rescheduled for Friday, September 15 at 4 p.m.

Mississippi Aquarium team members will release one endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtle into the Mississippi Sound. The turtle was part of a group that was cold-stunned and flown to Mississippi in Dec. 2022.

Since the turtle’s arrival, animal care, facilities and veterinary teams have been working in concert to return the Kemp’s ridley turtles back to full health and into the wild.
