Community comes out for 42nd annual Biloxi Seafood Festival

It was a day of family fun in the sun down at the Biloxi Town Green for the 42nd annual Biloxi Seafood Festival put on by the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce.

The 42nd annual Biloxi Seafood Festival saw thousands of seafood lovers gathering into the Biloxi Town Green for a day of family fun and good eating. Queen of Glaucus Christina Saewert said, “It is the place to be this time of year, regardless of the heat. It’s a good time. You get to eat some good local food. I love coming here.”

Desporte Seafood Chef Hiram McCall said, “This is a beautiful time of year to have the festival. This is a nice area. I think we get a lot of people from across the street from the hotels.”

Vendors and volunteers used this festival as a way to connect with new people. Volunteer Lakin Preston said, “Well, I like to do it because you get to interact with a lot of people and then it’s really fun and you get to meet a lot of people.”

Little Faith Big Results Owner Ingrid Jones said, “I think it does great for the community. It brings people out together to have family time, listen to great music, and be able to meet other people and network.”

“It brings the business in. We see the business pick up as it is coming through.”

Festival goer Jeff Martin said, “My favorite dish has got to be the boiled shrimp. Try it when you get down here. If you don’t like the boiled shrimp, they got friend shrimp. They got the crawdads, not the crawdads, but they got the crab legs and all that.”

“So, we had some chicken on a stick. I had some friend corn fritters. It was all good.”
