Deadline for financial aid in Moss Point is approaching

The deadline for financial aid in Moss Point is approaching fast.

The Jackson County Long-Term Recovery Committee is hearing and approving cases of victims who were affected by the tornado that hit June 19.

However, the recovery committee has also announced a September 19 deadline for tornado victims to get their cases submitted.

Anyone who still needs a to claim a file can register with Catholic Charities case management team in Moss Point.

“September 19th is exactly three months since the tornado struck Moss Point and that will be the deadline for contacting Catholic Charities to see about case management,” said Paige Roberts, the chairwoman of the Jackson county Long-Term Recovery Committee. “The case management will continue past the 19th, just no new cases after the 19th.”

As a reminder, FEMA has announced the disaster recovery center closed permanently at six tonight.
