4th Graders Tour Harrison Co. Farm
Tuesday, fourth graders from around the Coast got the chance to tour the Harrison County Farm. Busloads of kids were scattered around the farm for Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation Education Field Day.
Fourth grade students learned about the importance of our natural resources and other topics, such as recycling. Seabees were also on site, volunteering and helping out with the field day, giving the kids a chance to also learn about what they do.
Shawn Monkress, a Seabee, says, “Well, just the interaction with the kids. I have two kids at home and just for them to see what we do on a daily basis and to help out with the community.”
The Soil and Water Conservation District will hold another field day for more fourth graders on Wednesday.
