Urging Moss Point residents to use tornado resources

One leading official in the Moss Point recovery is urging citizens ahead of time to combine aid from FEMA and the county’s Long Term Recovery Fund to effectively rebuild.

FEMA is now accepting calls to hear cases for damaged homes and businesses.

The agency is currently in the process of setting up a disaster center and is urging citizens to make calls and report cases now before attending the center.

Paige Roberts, chair of the Jackson County Long Term Recovery Committee, says that even though more help is on the way, do not forget to get your case heard with LTRC.

Roberts says this allows tornado victims more aid through the ‘Rebuild Moss Point’ fund.

Ahead of FEMA’s arrival, call 1-800-621-3362 to make your claim. Use code ‘FEMA-4727 DR-MS. Roberts also says reach out to Catholic Charities to make a claim with the long-term recovery committee.
