Olympian Brittney Reese throws out Shuckers first pitch on Women in Sports Night

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — Before Saturday’s Biloxi Shuckers game, Gulfport native and Olympic gold medalist Brittney Reese threw out the ceremonial first pitch for Women in Sports Night at MGM Park.

The queen of the long jump continues to inspire the next generation of female athletes.

“We want to raise women in sports and participation in sports with little girls and things like that, so I think a person coming from the Coast and achieving the things that I’ve achieved, I’m a great role model for that, and a good person for somebody to look up to, to get more women and little girls in sports,” said Reese.

It was also Brittney Reese bobblehead night.
