Local organizations give back to Backpack Buddies

Big Play Entertainment Center in Biloxi partnered with local biker clubs and the community to help feed children on the Coast with its food drive for the Gulf Coast Backpack Buddies program.

Big Play hosts this event annually to help meet the nutritional needs of children on the weekends when they may not have enough food.

Those who donated were given Big Play cards to spend in the entertainment center for their kind gesture.

Event Organizer Lloyd Quinn says the food drive was extra special this year as they are assisting the Moss Point Backpack Buddies program after it fell victim to the recent tornado. “It’s a very welcomed program to begin with because of what it’s intended for. Unlike today, we’re doing a special one and that is to help our families in Moss Point that’s suffering, still suffering from the tornado issues that we had recently. Found out, that it was discovered that their big Backpack Buddies distribution location was destroyed by the tornado, but we’re going to try to help see what we can do to help restock it.”

The program will not just feed students in Moss Point, it will be distributed across the Coast as well.
