1/21 – Rob’s Thursday Morning Forecast

With a vigorous cold front to the west developing and moving into the area later today, spotty showers will become more widespread along with thunderstorms late afternoon/tonight. The SEVERE THREAT will be in the area late afternoon through midnight, with strong surface winds in excess of 40 mph the best/likely scenario…but cannot rule out TORNADIC ACTIVITY

T-Storms and rain will move east after midnight with a few light showers lingering after sunrise tomorrow. Wrap-around moisture will keep the area under strong cloud coverage through Friday with skies clearing late in the day/overnight into Saturday morning. STRONG WINDS from the north gusting into the 20 mph range will continue Friday/Saturday before relaxing Saturday night. FREEZING conditions will be back Saturday/Sunday morning before the air modifies in advance of the next boundary.
