Diamondhead City Manager Lawsuit Continues

The dispute between the City of Diamondhead and its former City Manager, Richard Rose, is not over.

Rose’s attorney, Jim Halliday, tells News 25 a lawsuit for wrongful termination is still on the table, even as the city approved a new permanent replacement for Rose, Clovis Reed, just Wedmesday night. Diamondhead attorney, Sean Tindell, says they look forward to their day in court.

Tindell says, “The city council actually voted to remove Mr. Rose on April 23rd of 2014, subject to public hearing, which was then held on June 3rd. Of course, he did not appear at the hearing. At the conclusion of the hearing, the Mayor entertained any offers from any of the councilman to wish to have Mr. Rose reinstated as City Manager. No councilman made that motion, so at the end of the hearing, Mr. Rose’s termination or removal was finalized.”

According to Tindell, Rose was removed as City Manager for not meeting the expectations of the city and received a letter after the hearing stating he had been terminated.
