Moss Point Recovery Council receives donation from Gulf Coast Community Foundation

More recovery money is heading into the River City thanks to a large donation from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

A check for $100,000 was presented earlier this morning to representatives of the Moss Point Long Term Recovery.

The money will go towards tornado recovery in the River City and the Recovery Council’s Mission in helping those affected by the June EF-2 tornado.  Gulf Coast Community Foundation President Christen Duhe says their goal is to be there for the community. “When this disaster happened in Moss Point, we knew there was something that we needed to do to step in and help them. So, with our board, we decided to give $100,000 to their recovery for rebuilding and repairing homes that were damaged in the tornado in June. Anything that we can do to help our community is what we’re here for.”

The Gulf Coast Community Foundation is a non-profit public charity that has been serving the people of South Mississippi since 1989.
