Margaritaville Casino under new ownership
The Margaritaville Casino has sat vacant since 2014, but it will soon come back to life!
The building has now sold to MIC Limited, the company that owns many southern destination spots such as The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama, Cat’s Meow Karaoke bar in New Orleans, and Dick’s Last Resort.
The company, owned by Harry Mohney, filed corporation papers in Mississippi on July 25 in advance of the sale.
According to our media partner, the Sun Herald, the sale closed Thursday afternoon.
Southeast Commercial Realty did not say how much the land and building cost, but it was originally listed at $15.9 million.
The property had captured the interest of KISS frontmen Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, who had planned a groundbreaking when their tour was scheduled to stop in Biloxi in 2020, but the tour — and their plans for the property — were halted by COVID.
