Harrison County Library System requests funding for digital services

The Harrison County Library System is asking for funding to expand their popular digital services.

Library Director Sarah Crisler-Ruskey attended the Harrison County Board of Supervisors meeting today and requested further funding for the digital service.

Other library systems of similar size in the area allocate $70-90,000 towards the digital library service while the Harrison County Library System only allocates $40,000. The board moved to provide $40,000 additional dollars to the Harrison County Library System.

Hoopla is an app where you can download digital items from the Harrison County Library. Harrison County Library Director Sarah Crisler-Ruskey said, “One of our most popular services which is called Hoopla, it’s digital materials, audio books, e-books, some video materials, graphic novels. It’s extremely popular and we haven’t been able to keep up with demand.”

Audio books and e-books are automatically ‘returned’ after a period of time.
