First Baby of 2016 Debuts at Singing River Hospital
The New Year is upon us. Today marks a new beginning for one Coast couple who welcomed the first New Year’s baby to be born in South Mississippi.
Neithan Ortiz Monet made his debut into this world a little early. His due date was January 30th but the little guy was delivered into this world today at 8:25 a.m. at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, giving him the title of South Mississippi’s First Baby of 2016.
His parents are very proud of their new bundle of joy and his father says he looks forward to being a new dad. “This is my first baby. I’ve never felt anything like this before. I will try and do the best for him and for her. That’s what I have to do and I thank God for everything. Thank you everybody for being here with me and thank you for giving me this beautiful little boy.”
Friends and family joined the new mom and dad overnight during their stay at the Pascagoula hospital, where they rung in the New Year.
