Memorial Hospital in Gulfport recognized for stroke care
Memorial Hospital in Gulfport has become nationally recognized for its commitment to providing high-quality stroke care as well as two other honors.
The hospital has received the American Heart Association’s Golf Plus Quality Achievement award.
The Memorial Stroke Program Medical Director Dr. Lee Voulters said the hospital is committed to improving patient care by adhering to the latest guidelines.
Memorial also received the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Award from the American Heart Association, meaning they met criteria to reduce the time between eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and their treatment.
They were also awarded from Target: Type 2 Diabetes, meaning patients with the disease receives the most up-to-date care when hospitalized due to a stroke.
