A Long Beach man is back in jail after he tried to flee from police during a traffic stop.

Harrison County deputies deployed a K-9 to apprehend Savarese.

Long Beach Police Chief Billy Seal said 34-year-old Michael Savarese was arrested Sunday and charged with felony failure to stop and DUI.

His bond was revoked on a charge from January, when he was arrested after a welfare check to a residence on Wisteria Lane led to finding a cache of marijuana. That charge was possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Savarese is in the Harrison County jail. Bond on the new charges was set at $50,000 for felony failure to stop and the DUI is $1,000. He is awaiting an initial appearance.
