Arrest made for shooting at Gautier Community Center

GAUTIER, MS – On Thursday, July 20, 2023, Jaqwan Coleman-Pittman of Gautier was charged and arrested for aggravated assault in relation to the shooting at the Gautier Community Center.

Coleman-Pittman is 16-years-old and has been charged as an adult. His bond was set at $150,000 by Judge St. Pe and he is currently being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.

Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of a second shooter based on physical evidence and are still investigating this incident.

On Saturday, July 8, 2023 at around 11:03 p.m., the Gautier Police Department responded to a reported shooting at the Gautier Community Center, located at 2012 Library Lane in Gautier, Mississippi.

The shooting occurred during an altercation between multiple unknown individuals attending a birthday party being held there.

The shooting resulted in one female juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was an innocent bystander and was transported by Acadian Ambulance Services to a local hospital and treated for her injuries, which are not considered life threatening.
