20-year-old arrested and charged in alleged shooting at Red Roof Inn

A 20-year old St. Martin man is in custody after he allegedly shot another man Thursday afternoon, July 20.

Sheriff John Ledbetter says around 3:30 Thursday,  deputies responded to a shooting at the Red Roof Inn on Cook Road at Ocean Springs exit 50. They found the 23-year old victim shot several times.

Investigators arrested Quinton Biggs and charged him with attempted murder. The victim was taken to the hospital and his name isn’t being released at this time.

Biggs is in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with no bond. An initial court hearing is expected Friday.

The case remains under investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
