Pascagoula High seniors decorate cars for last ‘first day of school’

Pascagoula High School seniors are making the most of their last day of summer.

Seniors from Pascagoula gathered at Point Park to decorate their cars for their last ‘first day of school.’ Tomorrow morning, they will meet back and parade to school, escorted by city police for the best first day ever.

While the day has been full of fun and laughter with friends, students are feeling bittersweet knowing that this year will have many more firsts, but also many more lasts as graduation day nears. Senior Bryan Alvarez said, “I probably won’t get to do this again. You know, it’s just, something that I can like share with other people and other seniors in my class and stuff like that. And it’s just great overall, in my opinion.”

Senior Tristen Fortenberry said, “I just pray that, if it comes to it, we’re together in the future somehow, some way. A class reunion of some sort. I’m just glad we’re here right now. I’m just trying to focus on what’s important right now: just being with each other.”

The parade of seniors will begin tomorrow morning at 7:30 at Point Park. They’ll make the journey all the way to the high school.
