Officer Involved Shooting George County

Authorities say police shot and killed a man in Lucedale after a chase that began when George County deputies tried to pull over an antique pickup truck for failure to yield.

A twenty minute chase then ensued on Highway 26.

Officials with the department of public safety say authorities were forced to discharge their weapons but information about why is not readily available due to a pending investigation.

The name of the man who was shot is being withheld at this time.
