Woman injured in car-train collision on July 4th dies

A woman who was injured in a car-train collision on 25th Avenue in Gulfport on July 4th has died.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer identified the woman as Antoinette Wynn.

Wynn was pronounced brain dead Thursday at Memorial Hospital, where she had been since the collision.

She and her three children had just left Jones Park, where they had been watching the fireworks show, when her vehicle collided with a train on 25th Avenue near 14th Street.

Switzer said Wynn was an organ donor, so she will be taken to Jackson so doctors can receive her organs.

Her three children, who were also in the vehicle, are expected to make a full recovery.
