Ocean Springs businesses sprucing up, thanks to Main Street facade grants

Small businesses in downtown Ocean Springs are preparing for renovations after being awarded facade grants by Ocean Springs Main Street.

Main Street partnered with Mississippi Power and the United Way of Jackson and George Counties to award nearly a dozen businesses in the downtown district.

The grants will help businesses improve the outsides of their buildings — such as adding awnings, signage and mural projects.

Joann Wheeler, owner of Coastal Magpie, said she looks forward to improving her business.
