Tony Trapani receives Memorial Star in Bay St. Louis

Tony Trapani’s legacy was cemented in a big way over the weekend.

The Hancock County Community Development Foundation honored Trapani Saturday with a Heritage Memorial Star outside of his restaurant.

Tony’s wife Jolynne, daughter Grace, and son Joseph all gave speeches in remembrance of the beloved father and husband.

Trapani is well-known for his loyalty and commitment to Bay St. Louis and was a longtime staple in the Mississippi Gulf Coast culinary scene.

Jolynne Trapani says her husband represents the essence of Bay St. Louis. “Today we are honored to have Tony’s memory be a part of Bay St. Louis forever with this star. We just want to thank the city and the foundation for honoring him in this way. It’s a really cool thing, he loved Bay St. Louis. He is Bay St. Louis.”

Trapani’s Eatery has been open for 29 years and Jolynne says the continued support from the community has been heartwarming.
