Work on Menge Avenue exit on I-10 causing traffic delays

Work has started on the interchange at Menge Avenue for the planned Buc-ee’s Travel Center — and it’s causing some serious delays on I-10.

MDOT traffic camera shows major delays east and west of Menge Avenue — backed up to County Farm Road.

MDOT says the delays could last more than three hours and motorists should take alternate routes if possible.

Also as a reminder, the overpass at Menge Avenue will close July 12 and stay closed for 13 months as it is replaced.

The entire project is expected to take 18 months.
