Volunteers feeding tornado victims in Moss Point

With disaster comes an outpour of compassion and love from others. In Moss Point, fellow locals and Mississippians helped to feed victims of the recent tornado.

The distribution of food and water was sponsored by Blackman Temple and Sweetwater Church in Jefferson Davis County, K and B Body Shop, and others.

In helping feed residents, some of the volunteers know all too well about disaster as they help those whose shoes they were once in. Volunteers Teresa and Herdie Booth said, “We just came down today because in 2020 we were struck by the tornado in the Prentiss and Bassfield area. So, we just wanted to come back and do just like they did for us. So many people came from all around the state. I mean, the United States really because we had some people to come from even Utah and they came to help us in our time of trouble.”
