Body found on Belle Fontaine Beach in Jackson County
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a man found floating in the water at Belle Fontaine beach near the St. Andrews community.
Sheriff John Ledbetter says around 12:30 Friday afternoon, a boater spotted the body about three quarters of a mile offshore. Deputies assisted by the Department of Marine Resources recovered the unidentified man.
Cause of death is unknown at this time and the case is being treated as a homicide.
