Picayune police searching for theft suspect
Picayune police are searching for a suspect in at least two shoplifting cases at area Walmarts.
The most recent happened Tuesday night when a male suspect entered the Picayune Walmart, filled a shopping cart, and left through the fire escape door he disabled in the garden center.
The suspect loaded the stolen items in this Chrysler minivan that didn’t have a tag and drove off.
Over the next seven hours, the suspect would return several times wearing a Walmart style employee vest.
The store was closed, but there were employees in the building restocking shelves.
The suspect entered through the same door he disabled and loaded several shopping carts with merchandise, again loading the items in the minivan.
Investigators learned the suspect committed the same crime at the Northshore Boulevard Walmart in Slidell on June 10th.
Anyone with information is asked to call Picayune police or Crime Stoppers.
