Our Gulf Coast Angels Raises Money for AvaLynn Harris
Our Gulf Coast Angels, a nonprofit based in Moss Point, is selling Justice for AvaLynn t-shirts. The shirts display a quote which reads "Childhood should be carefree, playing in the sun, not living in a nightmare in the darkness of the soul."
Proceeds will be split between AvaLynn’s family and Angels and Doves, an anti-bullying organization. Founder of Our Gulf Coast Angels, Amanda Rivera, tells News 25 brining awareness to bullying is of the upmost importance.
Rivera says, “It’s to go into the schools, teach them what bullying is, and that it’s okay to tell somebody if you’re being bullied. It’s okay to report it to teachers. If the teachers don’t listen, report it higher, report it to your parents, report it to friends. We as the parents need to stand up and voice for the children in the schools. If not, nobody else is going to speak up for them.”
T-shirts are available through the Our Gulf Coast Angels’ Facebook page.
