Biloxi alum Colt Keith promoted to Triple A
Yesterday, Biloxi alum Colt Keith was promoted to the Toledo Mud Hens, the Triple A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.
Through 59 games with the Double A Erie Seawolves, Keith has been scorching hot at the plate, hitting .325 with 18 doubles, 14 home runs, and 50 RBI.
The former Indian was named Eastern League player of the month for May, including a 6-6 night in which he hit for the cycle with two home runs, the first minor or major league player to ever do that.
Keith was drafted by the Tigers in the fifth round of the 2020 draft and is now the organization’s top ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
Yesterday, Keith was also selected to the American League roster of the MLB Futures Game on July 8th.
