Gulf Coast Sportsman’s Club holds annual Kids Fishing Rodeo

Kids in Hancock County cast their lines and had a good time over the weekend at an annual fishing rodeo designed just for them.

It was the 37th edition of the Gulf Coast Sportsman’s Club’s Kids Fishing Rodeo. So many kids took home prizes for the fish they reeled in at the Washington Street Pier in Bay St. Louis.

The event allows kids to sharpen their fishing skills year after year while also spending quality time with friends and family on the water.

Sportsman’s Club President Truman Schultz says it is rewarding to see kids have a good time doing what they love. “We’ve got all year to plan for it. It is rewarding at the end to know that we had a good showing and the kids are happy.”

The club even held raffles for prizes kids could win at the end of the rodeo.
