Animal Control officer rescues injured osprey in Moss Point
Following a powerful storm, an animal control officer demonstrated dedication and compassion by rescuing an injured osprey.
This act of kindness serves as a reminder of the efforts made by individuals to protect and care for animals during time of distress.
When the tornado that hit Moss Point knocked an osprey nest out of a tree behind the police station, Animal Control Officer Michelle Harlow stepped in. She rescued the injured bird and made sure it got the care it needed. “So yesterday a call came in as people were coming to clean up the field and the stadium that there was an osprey, an injured osprey over here. So, I came and got the bird and as I could tell he was injured so I took him to Judy Rowe.”
The injured osprey was taken to a local rehab center for treatment. It will be released after rehabilitation.
