Volunteers needed for debris cleanup in Moss Point

Moss Point leaders are getting ready for this weekend when scores of volunteers are expected to come in to help with tornado cleanup.

Paige Roberts, CEO of the Jackson County Chamber, said volunteers are expected and needed to help clean up, but they also need to come prepared for the South Mississippi summer weather.

Roberts said volunteers should report to the Riverfront Community Center and bring coolers with them. They will be filled with ice and water.

She stressed the need for able bodies to help with clearing debris.

Other needs, such as food and cleaning supplies, have been met and are not needed at this time.
