Noma Drive boat ramp renovations will be completed in 2024

The City of Diamondhead is now in the process of providing more waterfront access to its residents.

Within the next 60 days, work will start on renovations for a new boat and kayak launch. The new boat launch gives direct access to the Jourdan River and will feature a boardwalk, sitting areas for residents and guests, fishing areas, bird watching, and other activities.

Diamondhead Mayor Nancy Depreo says the boat launch site is the ideal spot for developers. “We have got the perfect location for a waterfront restaurant. So, we are waiting on the right development and to be able to utilize this property and have a waterfront restaurant overlooking the water.”

More than $1.2 million in matching funds are being used with this project.
