Long Beach Public Library celebrates Father’s Day with preschool story time
Sunday is Father’s Day and toddlers in Long Beach celebrated early with a date at the library.
Long Beach Public Library hosted its weekly story time reading with the local toddlers and preschoolers with the theme centered around Father’s Day.
Librarians read the children ‘How to Surprise a Dad’ by Jean Reagan. The children enjoyed dancing and singing and created their dad a special card to show their love for him.
Long Beach Librarians tell us how the building blocks of story time help kick-start early childhood development. Librarian Renee Rayburn said, “Try to do particular themes that the little ones can relate to, like, just about shapes or particular letters. We kind of bounce around and do just different things. Sometimes we repeat them, a little bit here and there because with the little ones you have to kind of do that.”
If you are interested in taking your child, the Long Beach Public Library hosts pre-school story time on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
