Two local baseball players named NJCAA All-Americans
The accolades are rolling in for local junior college baseball players.
For the fifth consecutive season, Pearl River Community College has a student-athlete named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-American team in the form of Wildcat pitcher Cooper Cooksey.
Named a second-team All American, the right-handed pitcher tossed a team-high 68-and-a-third innings and pitched his way to an NJCAA best with 1.32 earned run average.
Pascagoula alum Sean Smith was named a third-team All American from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The Bulldog outfielder possesses a .392 batting average with 15 total homeruns. Smith is MGCCC’s 26th All-American and their first since 2019.
